On the streets of New York, four naughty teenagers planned a good trick to tease a street hot dog vendor to kill the boring time in the afternoon. Unexpectedly, the joke went wrong and they accidentally injured a passerby and were sentenced to several months in a boys' home. In the boys' home, every night at midnight, they would be called out by the guards and beaten and sodomized. When they regained their freedom, the four partners decided to bury this humiliation forever in their hearts. Years later, two of the partners, Michael (Brad Pitt), became deputy prosecutors, and Lorenzo (Jason Patric) became a reporter.
