Shajiabang

During the Anti-Japanese War, the soldiers of the New Fourth Army in the south of the Yangtze River fought fiercely with the Japanese invaders. The gloriously injured instructor Guo Jianguang (played by Tan Yuanshou) and 18 New Fourth Army soldiers were forced to recuperate in Shajiabang, patiently waiting for the moment when they went to the battlefield again. Progressive people such as Mrs. Ah Qing (played by Hong Xuefei) and Grandma Sha (played by Wan Yiying) actively accepted and took care of the wounded, while the soldiers did their best to share farm work with the villagers. Not long after, the Japanese began to sweep away, and Aqing's wife led the comrades to hide in Ludang. The Japanese invaders were furious, and ordered Hu Chuankui (played by Zhou Hetong), the loyal commander of the National Salvation Army who pretended to be revolutionary to secretly communicate with the Japanese invaders, to encircle and suppress the wounded members of the New Fourth Army. Instigated by Chief of Staff Diao Deyi (played by Ma Changli) and Japanese translators, Hu Chuankui, who coveted the "Land of Fish and Rice", went to Shajiabang...
