River Beast

In Tianjin in the early years of the Republic of China, the bizarre deaths of dozens of sewer workers made people panic. The broken corpses floating out of the river made the goddess declare that water ghosts were infested, and Tianjin was in catastrophe. The laid-off policeman Gu Zhiyuan relied on taking small jobs at the dock to support his and his daughter Linglong's livelihood. On this day, a brutal river beast rushed ashore, destroying houses and lives wantonly, and even kidnapped Gu Zhiyuan's daughter Linglong. In order to save his daughter, Gu Zhiyuan teamed up with his deceased wife's sister Tang Xiaowei, who had a distant relationship with him, and embarked on a journey of redemption about life, family ties and self.
