The Color of Fire

This film is adapted from the novel of the same name by Pierre Lemaitre, the master of contemporary French crime novels. It belongs to the same series as the acclaimed film "Goodbye", which was also adapted from the novel of the same name and was widely praised. The film tells the story of Madeleine, a banker's daughter in France before World War II, who was framed by relatives and friends after her father's death and lost everything. She finally fought back to get revenge. It was jointly performed by French national treasure actress Fanny Aldan and Léa de Ruguet, who won the César Award for Best Actress for "The Guardian". It perfectly presented the romantic French revenge story in the original work, and reflected the fate of individuals and the country in the turbulent times of the early 20th century. Nominated for the 2023 Cesar Award for Best Costume Design and Art Design Award.
