Prison Man

Kent Marlowe (played by Montgomery Clift) was imprisoned for drunk driving, and met the robber John Morgan (played by Chester Morris) and the murderer Machine Gun Butch (played by Wallace Beery) in prison. Marlowe, who has a weak personality, was bullied by Butch on his first night in prison. Later, he could not get along harmoniously with other inmates. The dissatisfied Marlowe, encouraged by the police spies, wanted to get out of prison early by catching Butch and Morgan. The grumpy Butch couldn't stand the poor food conditions in the prison, and encouraged all the prisoners to protest in the restaurant. They were eventually suppressed, and Butch was sent to the dungeon, but he had already made up his mind to try to escape. Morgan has a cunning character and has always been able to get things done in prison. He was given the opportunity to be released on parole early due to his good behavior in prison. Just when he was overjoyed and ready to be released from prison, a sudden event changed his fate forever.
