Drug-addicted Vanessa and her boyfriend rely on social welfare loopholes to make ends meet. During the day, they push an old lawnmower and knock on doors, harassing and begging for money. At night, they wander the wilderness and live in seclusion in an abandoned trailer. Day after day, the two of them were either begging for medicine in the hospital or wandering the streets in a daze. The life of a walking dead gradually made Vanessa feel uneasy. After discovering that she was pregnant, she tried to cheer up, but found that she could not let go of her depressed boyfriend who had long given up on life. Fluctuating between emotion and reason, will she eventually fall back into the eternal purgatory of love, or will she be able to firmly embrace the courage of new life? Emerging director Ashley McCarthy, who was born in an outlying Canadian island, adapted the group of unemployed young people in her hometown who were addicted to drugs and lived decadently into a real-life romance, depicting a borderline tragedy that floats and sinks in the whirlpool of despair and helplessness. It adheres to a grassroots perspective, uses local actors, and uses a large number of close-up techniques to show the special style of negative image writing.
