Mang / Fely / Dolores / Santamaria / Georgette / Baudry || Miss America / the radio station he must listen to every day is "The Voice of America". He is especially fascinated by the American space program. He especially admires Werner Von Braun / a rocket scientist who defected from East Germany. Tahimi believes that the village is gradually deteriorating and cannot keep up with the times. The backward lifestyle of the villagers makes him feel sad / and he even looks down on his friends who grew up with him because he is now a bamboo house craftsman.
