Phone Love

Praia (played by Shriya Saran) is an indigenous Indian girl who grows up in a typical conservative Indian family and has an unglamorous job as a phone operator in a credit card company. As an Indian girl, America's free and open style and diversified life have a fatal attraction for Praia. Not only can she speak fluent and standard English, but she even fabricated a false identity. She told every client who called her that she was Jennifer from San Francisco. By chance, Praia received a call from a man named Granger (played by Jesse Metcalfe). The two had a very good chat and even agreed to meet. In order to maintain the lie, Praia got on a plane to the United States. The departure of Praia makes her father Raymond (Anupam Kher) very angry. It turns out that he had already found a satisfactory husband for Praia in India. In order to recover their rebellious daughter, Raymond's family actually set foot on American soil.
