The Runner

Steve (played by Billy Crudup) has extraordinary talent in running. Many coaches wanted to take him into their ranks but were rejected one after another, because, in the heart of the arrogant Steve, only the legendary track coach Bill (Donald Sutherland) ) qualified to become his "master." After going through some twists and turns, Steve finally became Bill's effective general. After experiencing Bill's unique and rigorous training, Steve made great progress. After that, he met a beautiful girl named Ma Rui (Monica Potter) on campus, and they both fell in love. In a fiercely competitive competition, the fledgling Steve won fourth place. Just when Bill and Mary were happy for him, Steve announced that he would end his career because his fragile self-esteem could not bear the blow of failing to get first place.
