Theft of Childhood

Rosetta (Valentina Scalici) and Luciano (Giuseppe Iracetano) Giuseppe Ieracitano (played by Giuseppe Ieracitano) is a brother and sister who depend on each other. Their mother was imprisoned for forcing her daughter into prostitution. After the incident was exposed by the media, the two were then put on a train to the orphanage by two police officers. One of the policemen resigned in advance and entrusted the siblings to the care of policeman Antonio (Enrico Lo Verso) alone. The elder sister is burdened with the psychological pressure of being a prostitute, but the younger brother always goes his own way, and the two often argue. Antonio always watched silently, carefully protecting his two young hearts. After experiencing a series of bad lucks such as robberies, evictions from hotels, expulsions from schools, asthma, etc., Antonio seems to have established a father-friend relationship with his siblings. However, a newspaper brought their world to the brink of collapse... The film won the Jury Prize at the 45th Cannes Film Festival.
