Forever

In order to rescue his friend from the accident, flying firefighter Peter (Richard Dreyfuss) died. After his death, he came to a magical place. The beautiful goddess Hap (Audrey Hepburn) told Peter that he must return to the world to lead his girlfriend Dorinda (Holly Hunter) out of grief and find her happiness again. As a result, Peter turned into a soul floating around Dorinda. He could not be heard or seen by mortals, and could only watch Melinda's daily life silently. Slowly, he seemed unable to accept the task assigned to him by Hap because he was so unwilling that Dorinda would find a new relationship and fall in love with her new boyfriend Ted (Brad Johnson).
