In elementary school, Chihaya was introduced to karuta competition under the influence of transfer student Arata Matetani (played by Maken Yu), and she has been out of control ever since. After entering high school, she reunited with Mashima Taichi (played by Nomura Shuhei) who participated in the competition with her and Wataya, so the two jointly founded the competitive flower card club.
