In 1978, Liu Moxing, who felt that he had committed a murder in the Vietnam War, returned to South Korea and believed in God. In order to wash away his sins, Liu devoted himself to spiritual practice and organized villagers to raise funds to buy land for preaching. Interpol Qian Yongde (played by Jung Jae-young) suspected that Liu Moxing was actually a liar and persecuted the latter. Soon he was moved by Liu, and the two took several criminals together and went to a remote place to seek redemption. Twenty-five years later, the place where Qian, Liu and others settled has developed into a well-organized village. After Liu Mok died, Liu's son Liu Haiguo (played by Park Hae Il) went to the funeral from Seoul. However, everyone in the village did not seem to welcome Liu Haiguo and always expected him to leave.
