Ammonite

The story takes place in Britain in the 1820s. Mary (Kate Winslet) is a paleontologist. However, this profession obviously cannot allow her to live a good life, so Mary is still struggling on the poverty line. In order to treat her seriously ill mother, Mary makes a living by picking up fossils on the beach and selling them to tourists. One day, a man named Roderick (James McArdle) found Mary and offered a very high salary. He hoped that Mary could take care of his seriously ill wife Charlotte (Saoirse Ronan). Unable to withstand the temptation of money, Mary agreed. However, not long after Mary met Charlotte, the hugely different ideas between the two collided and sparked sparks. However, as time passed, they both saw in each other a world they had never experienced.
