Rejected Life

Laurel (Julianne Moore) is a police detective with very rich experience in handling cases. In 23 years on the job, Laurel's ability to handle cases has never been inferior to that of any male colleague. However, she has a secret, that is, she is a homosexual. In order to protect her position in the police station, she must closely guard this secret. One day, Laurel met a woman named Daisy (Elliot Page) at an event. Daisy was a car mechanic. Although the two of them were very different in terms of status and age, the lovers were attracted to each other and eventually came together. Unfortunately, Laurel discovered that she was suffering from cancer and was dying soon. She planned to transfer her pension to Daisy's name to ensure that she could still own her house after her death, but Laurel's application was quickly rejected.
