The Biography of Sylvia

Henry (Edmund Gwenn) and his daughter Sylvia (Katharine Hepburn) live a life of dependence together. Forced by life, Henry misappropriated public funds and was unable to repay his debts. After the revelation, he and his daughter embarked on an escape journey incognito. On the way, in order to hide their identity, Sylvia disguised herself as a man and changed her name to Sylvester. On the way to escape, Henry and Sylvia met a man named Jimmy (Cary Grant). Jimmy was also a liar, and a group of like-minded people who hit it off became travel companions. Later, Tilt (Natalie Paley) also joined them. What's funny is that although they got along day and night, no one could see through Sylvia's disguise until an artist named Michael (Brian Aherne) appeared.
