Philip (Bryan Cranston) is a wealthy millionaire. In a paragliding accident, he injured his cervical spine, resulting in total paralysis. Now, he lives in seclusion in his luxurious villa, relying on his abundant funds to live a solitary life. At the suggestion of his friends, Philip decided to recruit a personal assistant to take care of his daily life. Shortly after the recruitment notice was sent out, a young man named Dale (Kevin Hart) appeared in front of him. Dale is not a person with a very clean background. He is about to lose his child visitation rights because he cannot pay alimony to his ex-wife. The carefree Dale quickly attracted Philip's attention. Although everyone thought this young man was unreliable, Philip decided that he was the one.
