The story begins in 1154 AD. After the death of Geoffrey V, Henry II (Peter O'Toole) However, Henry II's best friend Thomas (Richard Burton) is a Saxon. After succeeding to the throne, Henry II promoted him to become prime minister. Thomas possessed extraordinary wisdom and courage.
