Border Town

In 1992, the "North American Free Trade Agreement" was signed and came into effect. Many large companies flock to the Mexican border towns with the United States to set up factories. They employ cheap local labor to produce goods in large quantities and dump them into the United States. Such factories are called "Maquilaoras", and local women work tirelessly for pitifully little pay, working day and night, often not returning home until late at night or early in the morning. During this dangerous time when people were sparsely populated, many women were raped and killed. Amidst the chaos and decay of Juárez, the serial killings of women in Maquiladonna attracted widespread attention. In order to get a position as a foreign correspondent, Lauren (Jennifer Lopez), a reporter from the United States, began to investigate a series of murders in the town of Juarez. In the process, she meets Eve (Maya Zapata), a girl who narrowly escaped, and the fates of the two women are connected... This film is adapted from real events.
