Lost City

Zhao Po (played by Guo Xiaoran), a sophomore in the history department, is a boy from a poor background. By chance, he gets acquainted with Ganxiu (played by Huo Siyan), a girl who washes her hair at a hair salon. This is an innocent girl who has come out of the mud and is untainted. She works hard to support her mentally retarded brother. One day, Zhao Po took Gan Xiu and fellow villagers He Changxing (played by Zhao Zhigang) and Du Yongqing (played by Tang Yinuo) out for fun. However, he witnessed two fellow villagers showing their bestiality and defiling Gan Xiu. After that, Gan Xiu completely disappeared from Zhao Po's life. He looked around and seemed to have entered a confusing world... The film won the Best Director Award and the Best Newcomer Award at the 13th Shanghai International Film Festival Media Awards.
