The Disciple

Akun (played by Andy Lau) has monopolized the heroin market for many years. Although he regards Ali (played by Daniel Wu), who has been following him for more than eight years, as his successor, Akun has always acted cautiously, never revealing the location of the "warehouse" or processing plant, and has never seen other "colleagues". Akun planned to hand over all the management of his business to Ali, and Ali gradually learned more about the secrets of the drug market. For eight years, Ali has been working as an undercover agent to collect all information about drug dealers, but he has become emotionally involved with drug addict Afen (played by Zhang Jingchu). Afen's situation makes him even more confused about his status as a marginalized person. In the process of fighting bravely, Ali finally gained Akun's complete trust, and his eight years of tracking came to an end.
