Bandits

In the early years of the Republic of China, bandits were rampant in Northeast China. The knight-errant Xiao Kai accidentally met Zhu Jingxu, a wanderer. The two cherished each other and came to Zhongyuan Village in Laolonggou together. Kai Qixu stayed at the Inn, Encountering Mu Cuiying, the daughter of a shopkeeper. Ying secretly admires Kai, but because Kai's identity is unknown, Ying is wary. The shop owner Ding Sibao in the village colludes with the bandit leader Hong Boss, allowing bandits to raid the village, causing the villagers to suffer miserably. Kai and Xuyi are aggrieved and help the villagers fight off the bandits. Unexpectedly, a Xinjiang horse dealer who is friendly to the villagers comes to visit and misunderstands Kai as a horse thief. Kai and Xu had no choice but to leave Zhongyuan Village. Seeing that the time was ripe, Hong led his troops to attack the villagers again. Fortunately, at the critical moment, Kai and Xu turned back and annihilated the bandits. Excerpt from the film review: "Bandits" was so directly influenced by Japanese movies that, although the strength of the beards in the Northeast and the vast mountains of the snowy fields were somewhat represented, it still lacked the Chinese national style. If screenwriter Hu Jinquan had not made extensive use of dialect dialogues of the Northeast people to enhance the regional rendering, it would be more suspicious that it was a product of Japanese martial arts movies and American cowboy movies transplanted in China.
