During the Cold War in the 1950s, the Un-American Activities Commission used various methods to track down Communist colleagues in the American film industry and forced filmmakers to betray other people's names. Those who did not cooperate continued to block his job opportunities, and finally the famous Ten Gentlemen incident occurred. This film is based on this historical event. Robert De Niro plays the famous Hollywood director David Merrill. He still refuses to betray the list provided by his friends under strong pressure.
