Cyclist

"The Cyclist" is a film directed by Mohsen Makhmalbaf. The film tells the story of many Afghan refugees who fled to Iran during the war, but they often told tragic stories. The protagonist of "The Cyclist" is such an unfortunate Afghan refugee. In Iran, his wife is seriously ill, his job is hard, and he is discriminated against. In order to save money for medical treatment, the honest man tried every means, and he took a job that sounded ridiculous: riding a bicycle to perform, and being unable to get off the bicycle for a week. The organizer is a profit-driven boss. In order to make profits, he invites many audiences to make the performance huge. So everyone in the town paid attention to this performance and placed bets, as if they were watching a grand event... The poor Afghan man "performed" on his bicycle 24 hours a day. He was exhausted, but he still struggled to get paid and endured inhuman pain. By the seventh day after the performance, he was already a walking corpse.
