Marie-Louise Iribe, an excellent actor and director, adapted the classic work "The Devil" in German literature and music with stunning light and shadow play. On the one hand, the director successfully interpreted the fantasy imagination in Goethe's narrative poems by combining natural scenes, overlapping singing and dancing, and special effects photography; on the other hand, he also skillfully used montage-style editing techniques to reflect the dynamic creative tonality of Schubert's artistic music. With her suspenseful and unique visual vocabulary, Ilibe became one of the representatives who created a new page in the history of French talkies.
