At the beginning of the 18th century, in ancient and isolated villages, young girls were brutally murdered at night in the hinterland of the primitive jungle east of the Carpathian Mountains. The devil's breath permeates the forest, and evil spirits descend on the cursed land, bringing the most terrifying nightmares to the locals. At the same time, the relationship between the young British scientist and cartographer Jonathan Green (Jason Flemyng) and the wealthy lady was discovered by the other party's father.
