Macbeth

General Macbeth (Michael Fassbender Michael Fassbender) is the cousin of King Duncan of Scotland (David Thewlis). He has made great achievements in resisting foreign enemies and quelling rebellion. One day on his way back home, he meets three witches. The witches predict that Macbeth will be promoted to a noble position, which makes Macbeth eager to move. However, it is General Banquo's (Paddy Considine) son who will eventually inherit the throne. Instigated by his wife (played by Marion Cotillard), Macbeth killed the king and ascended the throne. In order to keep the throne and the secret of regicide, Macbeth's hands were covered with blood. General Banquo, Lady Macduff (played by Elizabeth Debicki) and her children all died under Macbeth's butcher knife, and Macbeth also drifted away on the road to madness.
