Silent Film Narrator

One hundred years ago, black-and-white silent films were popular in Japan, and adults and children were fascinated by them. Shuntaro (played by Rei Narita) often sneaks into theaters to eavesdrop on free movies, whether they are Chinese or foreign movies, and he can always imitate the tone of the benshi to perfection. "Narrator benshi" is Shuntaro's dream since childhood, but when he grows up, he becomes a "fake benshi", distracting the audience's attention, and allowing thieves to take advantage of the opportunity to break in. When he almost broke into a gang, he took the stolen money and fled to the small town theater "Aokikan". There were various different styles of debaters in the theater, such as the drunken debater, the pretty male debater, and the fat nerd debater, as well as the movie projectionist, musicians, and the stingy boss and his wife who took him on a movie tour. There is a world behind the scenes, but a gang of thieves and hot-blooded police are in hot pursuit. The girl he first loved when watching movies together in childhood also appears. There is also a newly opened fashionable theater in the town. The boss's daughter also falls madly in love with him. Where should Shuntaro's youthful love dream go...
