Autumn 1943. After several months of arduous positional fighting, the battalion led by Major Belyaev suffered more than half casualties. Lieutenant Loboda reported that he could do nothing against the ace German snipers who dominated the front line. The only hope is reinforcements, which should include experienced snipers. However, the long-awaited reinforcement column was attacked by German air attacks. As a result, all but a few soldiers and Igor Charin, a young hunter from Yakutia, died. The remnants of the reinforcements arrived at the camp, and Lieutenant Loboda decided to test whether the young Yakut was a good sniper. In the first battle, Igor successfully proved himself. He engaged German snipers, changing the balance of power on the front lines.
