Plains Guerrillas

In the autumn of 1943 during the Anti-Japanese War, guerrilla captain Li Xiangyang (Guo Zhenqing) received the task of containing the Matsui troops stationed by the Japanese army in a certain county in order to smash the Japanese army's conspiracy to "mopping up" a base area in North China and preserve the grain hidden in Lizhuang. During the operation, Li Xiangyang and the chief of staff carried out in two separate groups. When Li Xiangyang was transferring grain, he was spied on by the landlord Yang Laozong, who rushed to the county town to report to Song Jing (Fang Hua). Song Jing was overjoyed and led a large force to Lizhuang. However, Li Xiangyang arranged for the grain and villagers to be transferred to a tunnel, but the tunnel was eventually discovered by Song Jing. In order to lure Matsui to leave Lizhuang, Li Xiangyang led his team into the county, blew up the Japanese ammunition train, and planned to catch Matsui off guard when he retreated. However, Li Xiangyang underestimated Matsui's cunning. Matsui killed a "returner" halfway and returned to Lizhuang, killing some villagers who refused to tell where the food was hidden. But Matsui couldn't resist Li Xiangyang's elusiveness.
