Yoshiko Kawashima

Yoshiko Kawashima (Anita Mui) was originally the fourteenth daughter of Prince Su of the Qing Dynasty. In order to cultivate her into the spark of reviving the Qing Dynasty, she was sent by Prince Su to the hands of the Japanese ronin Kawashima Naniwa when she was young to receive espionage training. Later, Kawashima Naniwa took away her virginity and was ordered to marry a Mongolian prince. He wanted to encourage the independence of Manchuria and Mongolia, but her marriage failed. After breaking with Naniwa, Yoshiko Kawashima came to Shanghai and, with her beauty and leverage, she hooked up with Japanese General Uno Takayoshi (Xie Xian) and helped Puyi establish Manchukuo in Changchun. After being appointed commander-in-chief of the Manchukuo Army, she officially became a Japanese spy and began crazy revenge on revolutionaries. But upon seeing her former lover Yun Kai (Andy Lau), now a revolutionary, being arrested for assassinating Takayoshi Uno, Yoshiko Kawashima has a change of mind.
