Qixia Temple 1937

The story of this film is based on real events. On December 13, 1937, the Japanese invaders captured Nanjing and carried out a brutal massacre. In order to protect the lives of refugees and Chinese soldiers, the monks of Qixia Temple, headed by Master Jiran, spontaneously organized and established a Buddhist refugee shelter, which has assisted and resettled more than 24,000 refugees. During the struggle with the Japanese army, many monks died tragically at the gunpoint of the Japanese army. Master Jiran and others were not afraid of sacrifice. While assisting sick and wounded refugees, they also tried to protect the anti-Japanese soldiers and ensure their safe crossing of the river.
