Colonial Soldier

This film, co-produced by France and Senegal, was filmed in France and Senegal. It tells the story of Bakary Diallo who was drafted into the French army in 1917 in order to reunite with his 17-year-old son Thierno, who had enlisted in the army. The two were sent to the front line and fought together. Encouraged by his superior officers, Thierno was ordered to go to the battlefield, hoping to surpass himself and become a man. His father, Bakary, tried to prevent his son from going to the battlefield at all costs and keep him safe.
