Independence Day 1996

On July 2 of a certain future year, monitoring stations across the United States discovered a huge spacecraft with a diameter of several hundred miles approaching the earth. The radio signals emitted by the spacecraft interfered with the Earth's communication satellite signals, and multiple sub-spacecraft with a diameter of 15 miles were released to fly over major cities on the Earth. The alien spacecraft's enemies and friends are unknown, and people fall into panic and confusion. Computer engineer David (Jeff Goldblum) deciphers the radio signal sent by aliens, which is actually a countdown signal of the attack. He manages to notify his ex-wife, the president's assistant Connie, but it is too late. On July 3, alien spacecraft began to attack the earth, and human civilization instantly suffered a huge blow and disaster. The President (played by Bill Pullman) and others evacuated to the military base and commanded the air force to counterattack, but it was like hitting an egg against a stone, with no effect.
