This film tells the story of the Lu family behind the scenes of real estate development transactions in a walled village in the New Territories of Hong Kong. The story begins when villager Luo Yongjiu (played by Louis Koo) drunkenly kills his brother Lu Yongyong (played by Qian Jiale). Lu Yongyuan's wife Yuehua (played by Zhou Xun) has been at odds with him ever since. Luo Yong was released from prison five years later and discovered that the patriarch of the Lu family, Lu Hantao (played by Zeng Jiang), his daughter Lu Yongyu (played by Michelle Ye), and son-in-law (played by Huang Lei) already owned the largest real estate company in the New Territories, while the Lu family brothers Lu Jinqiang (played by Liu Qingyun), Luk Yongfu (played by Fang Zhongxin) and others were crazily expanding their power. Soon the Hong Kong real estate giant invited Luo Yong to "discuss important matters together." At the same time, the mysterious man Azu (played by Daniel Wu) revealed to Yuehua a secret message obtained through eavesdropping. He told Yuehua that if he wanted to avenge this conspiracy, he must follow his instructions... So several forces began to act secretly. This film is the third part of the "Eavesdropping" series, but except for the core idea of ​​"Eavesdropping", the story content has nothing to do with the first two films.
