Jack Szymanski · "Jury Duty" (Jury Duty), starring "Insensitive" "Steve" James Marsden, has been announced. The series will premiere on April 7, with the first four episodes, and the season finale on April 21.
This drama will be a multi-camera comedy set in a courthouse and mixed with documentary elements.
It records the inner workings of the jury trial system through the perspective of a juror named Ronald Gladden. Little does Ronald know that the entire case is a sham, that everyone but him is an actor, including James, and that everything that happens - inside and outside the courtroom - is orchestrated.
The highly secretive project, first revealed in September last year, will be a very unique, genre-breaking observation that puts the entire story to a jury; it will be somewhat modeled on Sacha Baron Cohen's "Borat" and other works (several of the producers he has worked with are also on the creative team), Nathan Fielder and other shows, relying on James and some actors. Unscripted improv interactions and unpredictable predetermined directions to create effects.
