A few years after Hirata Shuzo (played by Isao Hashizume) and his wife Tomiko (played by Yoshiyuki Kazuko) divorced, the eldest son Konosuke and his wife were worried about the dangerous driving of the elderly and planned to ask his father Shuzo to return his driver's license. However, the stubborn Shuzo refused to return it, which once again cast an atmosphere of uneasiness in the Hirata family.
