Declaration of Nothing

The story takes place on the border of France and Belgium. Ruben (Benoît Poelvoorde) and Marcels (Danny Boon) are customs border inspectors belonging to Belgium and France respectively. Reuben, who has a strong personality and stubbornness, is a staunch nationalist. He scorns everything about France, including the French Marcellus. What he doesn't know is that Marcellus has a sincere relationship with his sister Louise (Julie Bernard). The arrival of 1993 completely changed the close-knit relationship between Reuben and Marcels. The border checkpoint was cancelled, and the two became colleagues and partners who looked up and down all day long. Between conflicts and confrontations, Marcels could no longer hide his love affair with Louise. A "world war" is about to begin.
