American Pickle

Directed by Brandon Trost, a photographer who often collaborates with Rogan, it is adapted from the novella "Sell Out" published in The New Yorker in 2013. The original author Simon Rich wrote the script. Rogen plays two roles. One is Herschel Greenbaum, a laborer who immigrated to the United States in the 1920s. He accidentally fell into a vat of pickles and was pickled for a hundred years, maintaining his perfect shape. Now, a hundred years later, Greenbaum wakes up in Brooklyn, New York, and his body has not aged at all. He went to find his current family, only to find that only his great-grandson Ben Greenbaum (also played by Rogen) was still alive. Ben is a programmer with a gentle personality, and Herschel cannot understand him at all.
