Journey to the End of the Universe

The year 2163 in the future. 40 members of mankind flew out of the solar system in a super-light spacecraft, and their destination was Alpha Sagittarius. Find out if there is life like human beings there. After completing the mission, it will return to Earth after a 15-year flight. But something unexpected happened during the journey... "Ikarie XB 1" was filmed in 1963. At that time, Kubrick had not made "2001: A Space Odyssey" and humans had not yet landed on the moon. Imaginative Eastern European filmmakers made bold assumptions about whether there is life other than human beings in the universe and searched for it in practice. This film is Czechoslovakia's first science fiction film. The film is adapted from the novel "Magellanic Clouds" ("Magellan Cloud") by the famous Polish science fiction writer Stanislav Lem.
