Baker (Matthew McConaughey) is a fishing boat captain who lives on a calm seaside and leads a regular and repetitive life every day. Baker once had a failed marriage. To this day, this marriage still hangs over his head like a dark cloud. He has never been able to forget his ex-wife Karen (Anne Hathaway). What Baker didn't expect was that one day, Karen, whom he had longed for, would actually appear in front of him. However, Karen made a request that surprised Baker, that is, to entrust Baker to kill her current husband Frank (Jason Clarke).
