Charlie

Although Charlie (played by Cliff Robertson) is already a 30-year-old adult man, because of his intellectual disability, he behaves like a 6-year-old child. During the day, Charlie worked as a cleaner in the bakery to earn a meager salary to support himself. In addition to this very hard job, Charlie also had to endure the ridicule and bullying of his peers. In the evening, Charlie goes back to night school. His teacher Alice (Claire Bloom) is very kind to Charlie. In order to help Charlie treat his illness, Alice found neuroscientists Richard (Leon Janney) and Anna (Lilia Skala) who specialize in brain experiments. Charlie accepted their treatment as an experimental subject. Unexpectedly, the treatment effect was extraordinary. Charlie not only fully recovered from the disease, but also gained a super high IQ.
