Martha Double

"Martha" is adapted from real events and was shortlisted for the Un Certain Regard section of the 2011 Sundance Film Festival and the Cannes Film Festival. The film was well received after its release at Sundance and was considered the 2011 "Winter's Bone." The young girl Martha (played by Elizabeth Olsen) once strayed into a cult, was brainwashed by the leader Palick (played by John Hawkes), and was "raped" in the name of religious rituals. She finally escaped from the control of the cult and escaped. Then she found her sister Lucy (Sarah Paulson), started a new life with her sister and brother-in-law Ted (Hugh Dancy), and kept silent about what happened when she disappeared in the past.
