The Five Heroes of Langya Mountain

In the autumn of 1941 during the Anti-Japanese War, in order to prevent the Japanese army from carrying out a large-scale raid on the Shanxi-Chahar-Hebei border area, Ma Baoyu (Li Changhua), a squad leader of a certain section of the Eighth Route Army, and five soldiers, Ge Zhenlin (Gao Baocheng), Song Xueyi (Li Li), Hu Fucai (Huo Deji), and Hu Delin (Zhang Huaizhi), accepted the mission to climb the main peak of Qipantuo in Langya Mountain. The Japanese army stormed Langya Mountain with 3,000 troops. The five soldiers were not afraid of being alone and relied on the condescending and favorable terrain to launch a tenacious battle with the Japanese army equipped with aircraft and artillery. The Japanese army launched three fierce charges in succession, but were repelled by them. They successfully completed the task of containing the Japanese army. When they ran out of ammunition and food, the five soldiers did not give up fighting the Japanese army and fought until the last moment.
