The plot is set in modern Paris, Marinette is of Chinese and French descent Dupain-Cheng (Marinette Dupin-Cheng) is an ordinary middle school girl with a somewhat hesitant and shy personality. She dreams of becoming a fashion designer and has a crush on Adrien Agreste, a handsome boy in her class. When a bad guy threatens Paris, Marinette transforms into the righteous and brave hero Ladybug (Ladybug), and partners with the flirtatious Chat Noir (Black Cat) to fight against the evil forces together.
