行动不便的钢厂退休骨干老林（李幼斌 饰）尽管过着无忧的退休生活，却是个十足的“不高兴”，他与懂得许多无用知识，却总是一事无成的闲人马腾（林更新 饰）因一场歪打正着的护工面试而相遇，展开了一段啼笑皆非的有趣互救：老林以为马腾是“杀人取财”的黑护工，希望他帮自己脱解，立下“协助自杀协议书”，马腾天生乐观有趣但事事半途而废，有胆求财，无心害命，只想赚点钱完成女儿的小心愿。短暂的相处和特殊的旅途中，二人建立了生死友谊，不再恐惧未知的病痛与死亡，找到了活下去的小小微光。
