电影一直与阳春白雪相关，似乎很少有人把它与下里巴人联系在一起。可河南某小镇某小村，却发生了一件事，让电影与下里巴人进行了一次对接。村里的电影放映员蔡有才（李易祥 饰）一直有一个梦想，那就是亲自拍一部电影。这不是闹着玩的，有才果真开始实践起了拍电影之梦。围绕着鬼子进村的主题，有才开始寻找演员，构造场景，可这些非专业出身的演员和资金的限制，让片场状况百出也笑话百出，经过各种磨难，有才还是咬牙坚持了下来。
