金岭大学考古系高材生唐风，在导师梁云杰举办的极限运动挑战赛上，遭遇不明人士暗算，本以为只是单纯的比赛，没想到接连发生的一系列事情竟与西夏王朝遗留的宝藏有关。只有凑齐玉插屏，才能解开西夏王朝背后的秘密。为了救人以及寻找失踪的母亲，唐风决定与极限运动高手韩江、大小姐梁媛，以及死党宋金裕等人共同踏上了危机四伏的探险之旅。旅途中唐风等人历经种种困难，同时唐风也渐渐发现：同行伙伴似乎也各自带着不为人知的目的。当他们战斗到最后一刻，终于赢得胜利的时候却发现自己被人利用。最后，大家终于明白了玉插屏的真正秘密，唐风与队友们为保护西夏文物、阻止国宝流失再度出发，与幕后黑手做最后的较量 。
