人間の性的な交わりを描き、江戸時代に全盛期を迎えた春画の研究家?芳賀一郎と、彼の弟子?春野弓子の交流が描かれる本作。ある日喫茶店で働く弓子は、人目をはばからず春画を見つめる“春画先生”こと芳賀と出会う。突然春画とは何かを説き出した芳賀に一目惚れした弓子は、彼の自宅で春画講座を受け始めることに。劇中では師弟コンビの“春画愛”を軸に、芳賀が執筆する春画大全の担当編集者や芳賀の亡妻の姉も巻き込んで物語が展開していく。
