大陆女子小倩（吴倩莲 饰）为了把弟弟从监狱中搭救出来，远赴香港准备卖身筹钱，不料却卷入黑社会大哥被杀一案，小倩从事发现场卷款逃走，黑社会内的真正凶手对小倩下达了追杀令。慌不择路的小倩将老警员彪叔（关海山 饰）打伤，逃到了赛车场，摩托车手阿富（郭富城 饰）助小倩脱离险境，又将其收留在家中。阿富本是富家公子，因酷爱赛车造成母亲车祸身亡，导致他和父亲（秦沛 饰）的关系疏远，独自在破败楼层中居住，每晚在赛场上挥洒孤独的青春。在警局遭受嘲笑的彪叔为了挽回同侪尊重，出力寻找小倩的下落，同时黑社会方面也渐渐逼近了阿富和小倩的所在。这天，在赛场上遭受搭档背叛的阿富回家时发现，他的家已经被黑社会付之一炬……
